In my work “True Connections”, I explore interpersonal relationships and their complex facets. Human beings are constantly searching for a spiritual home, for kindred souls, for attention, love, and affection. The work speaks about souls that encounter one another, merge, and grow together. At the same time, it reflects existing social structures and the effort to break them open, moving toward authentic, clear, and sincere communication and the conscious cultivation of a collective “we.”
The chrome bench placed in front of the work symbolizes the urban space in which we live and move daily in Berlin. It creates a moment of pause within the fast and noisy dynamics of the city, inviting viewers to immerse themselves in the image. It offers space to rest, to exchange, and to reflect: a place of encounter and connection.
The piece was presented in the exhibition “Chrome47.” Instead of being traditionally hung, the work leaned against the wall on silver buckets.
